Year 10 Courage Writing

Y10 Students.

You are to read one piece of writing that talks about the idea of 'courage'. It could a newspaper article about someone who has done something brave or it could be a short story that explores that idea of 'courage'.

As soon as you have completed your text you are to write a personal response to the reading. You are to use the following sentence starters and complete them:

This text talks about ....
I liked/disliked this story because ....
A character I liked/disliked was ...
Courage is shown in this text through ...
I believe other people should/shouldn't read this because ...

Make sure you add the Title/Author/Date at the beginning of your comment.

This text talks about "Dealing with bullying". I liked this story because it gives advice on how to stop bullying. Courage is shown in this text through people giving advice for stopping bullying.
I believe other people should read this because it will help stop bullying.

this text talks about a lady called ngahine hohaia when she was young and how she bacame an artist.
i liked the story because i would love to be an artist and will be good for a career. other people should read this because it teaches you how to do something with courage and not be afraid

Hi,
It takes a lot of courage to go for what you believe in and follow your dreams even if others try to stop you or put you down. It also takes great courage to stand up to bullies.
It seems you are all doing your best to follow your dreams and learn how to defeat bullies.
I think you are doing great. Believe you can, and you will.
